The short version
Settlr helps you track and split expenses — we do not move or hold any money. Use it honestly, respect other users, and don't do anything illegal.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using Settlr, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These terms apply to all users of Settlr.
2. What Settlr Is (and Isn't)
✓ Settlr IS
An expense tracking and splitting tool. We help you record who paid what, calculate who owes whom, and keep track of settlements between friends and groups.
✗ Settlr is NOT
A bank, payment processor, or financial institution. Settlr does not hold, transfer, or process any real money. All actual payments happen between users directly outside the app.
3. User Responsibilities
→You must be at least 13 years old to use Settlr.
→You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
→You must provide accurate information when creating an account and adding expenses.
→You must not use Settlr to record fraudulent, illegal, or fabricated transactions.
→You must not harass, abuse, or harm other users through the platform.
→Keep your login credentials secure. Do not share your password with others.
4. No Financial Liability
Settlr is a record-keeping tool only. We are not responsible for any financial disputes between users. If someone does not pay what they owe you as tracked in Settlr, we cannot intervene, mediate, or recover those funds. All financial obligations are solely between the users involved.
5. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, design, and code within Settlr — including the name "Settlr", the logo, and the app itself — is owned by the Settlr team. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of Settlr without explicit written permission.
6. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or use Settlr in any way that harms other users or the platform. You may delete your own account at any time from Profile → Delete account.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Settlr and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to financial losses, data loss, or disputes between users. Settlr is provided "as is" without any warranty of uninterrupted or error-free service.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will show a notice in the app. Continued use of Settlr after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from your use of Settlr shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
