The short version
We collect only what's needed to run Settlr. We never sell your data. You can delete your account at any time.
1. Who we are
Settlr is a personal expense-splitting app. When we say "Settlr", "we", "us", or "our" in this policy, we mean the Settlr service and its operators.
2. What we collect
Account information
Your name and email address when you register. Used to identify you across your groups.
Expense & settlement data
Amounts, descriptions, categories, and who paid. This is the core data that makes Settlr work.
Group data
Group names, member lists (name + email of members you invite), and balances.
Error reports
If the app crashes, we log the error message, your device type, and app version to help us fix bugs. No personal financial data is included in crash logs.
3. How we use your data

4. Data storage & security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), which uses industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is protected by Firebase Authentication — only you (and members you invite to groups) can read your expenses.
5. Data sharing
Your expense and group data is shared with the other members of each group you belong to — that is the entire point of Settlr. We do not share your data with any third parties except Google Firebase, which hosts the infrastructure.
6. Your rights
→Access: You can see all your data in the app at any time.
→Export: Use the Export Summary feature in Profile to download your data.
→Deletion: Sign out and contact us to request full account deletion, including all stored data.
→Notifications: You can disable notifications at any time in Profile → Notifications.
7. Children
Settlr is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we will show a notice in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
